DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule Development & Control
- Build and maintain detailed, resource‐loaded master schedules (Primavera P6 or MS Project) covering design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
- Define work breakdown structures (WBS), activity sequences, durations, dependencies and milestones.
- Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Track actual progress versus baseline; update forecasts and critical-path analyses.
- Produce and distribute weekly/monthly reports highlighting schedule health, delays, float status and corrective actions.
- Resource & Cost Alignment
- Coordinate with project controls and finance to align manpower, equipment and material requirements with budget allowances.
- Analyses variances, recommend mitigation measures and support cost‐control initiatives.
- Risk & Change Management
- Identify scheduling risks, quantify impacts and propose contingency plans.
- Incorporate approved change orders into schedules, re-baseline as needed and communicate adjustments to stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors and consultants to gather progress data and resolve conflicts.
- Lead look-ahead planning sessions, recovery-planning workshops and schedule-review meetings.
- Standards & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain and enhance planning templates, procedures and best practices.
- Mentor junior planners and conduct training on scheduling tools and methodologies.
Qualifications & Requirments
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
- Experience: 5-10 years’ experience as a Planning Engineer on UAE civil infrastructure or MEP projects.
- Proven track record managing complex, multi-discipline schedules in a contracting environment.
- Technical Skills & Software:
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (or MS Project) and MS Excel.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and document-control platforms.
- Knowledge & Certifications:
- Strong understanding of UAE Building Code, FIDIC/NEC contracts and local authority approval processes.
- PMI-PMP, AACE scheduling certification or equivalent is a plus.
