DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Mobilization
- Develop and drive the site execution plan: work breakdown structure, resource allocation, temporary facilities and logistics.
- Coordinate site set-up, including access, utilities, safety barriers and traffic management.
- Execution & Coordination
- Oversee daily construction operations: manage subcontractors, trades and on-site teams to achieve work scopes.
- Liaise with design, planning, QA/QC, HSE and commercial teams to resolve technical or contractual issues.
- Schedule & Cost Control
- Monitor progress against the baseline schedule (Primavera P6/MS Project); identify delays and lead recovery-planning sessions.
- Review and approve subcontractor claims, progress invoices and change orders to maintain budgetary control.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Enforce adherence to project specifications, approved drawings and QA/QC procedures; coordinate hold-point inspections and testing.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with company HSE policies and OSHAD/ADOSH regulations; conduct toolbox talks and safety walk-downs.
- Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as the primary on-site representative for clients, consultants and authorities; facilitate site meetings and issue minutes.
- Maintain transparent communication on progress, risks and mitigation plans.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor and coach site engineers, foremen and supervisors; foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews, skills gap analyses and on-the-job training sessions.
- Handover & Close-Out
- Oversee final inspections, snagging, commissioning and as-built documentation.
- Ensure smooth client handover and support warranty phase queries.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
- Experience:
- 7–10 years of progressive on-site construction experience in the UAE, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven track record delivering civil infrastructure, MEP or landscaping projects.
- Technical Skills & Software:
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 or MS Project, AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and digital site-management tools.
- Knowledge & Certifications:
- Strong understanding of UAE Building Code, FIDIC contract conditions and local permitting processes.
- PMP, Prince 2 Practitioner or equivalent certification is an advantage; HSE certifications (NEBOSH IGC, OSHAD) are desirable.
